- It is a chronic condition. It doesn't go away,
- The person is subject to relapse.
- It is progressive. Addiction only gets worse with continued use, and ends with death.
The good news however, is that, while substance addiction is a terminal illness, its progression can be arrested at almost any stage and can be put into remission indefinitely - providing a specific program is adhered to faithfully.

DRUG TREATMENT
Drug abuse not only destroys the mind, the emotions, the body and the relationships of the addict, they attack the spiritual core of those trapped in their addiction. Now, for many, Pacific Hills has become the Hope they have longed for. Long-term abuse of alcohol, street drugs and prescription drugs strips the soul of the addict, leaving them lonely and confused as to why they cannot stop abusing alcohol.
Drug addiction cannot be reversed with “improved thinking”, promise-making, making marital threats or moving to another area of the country. Recovery isn’t even insured with increasing random religious activities. Spiritual recovery comes when the blockage to faith is removed and a dynamic, personal relationship with one’s Higher Power is embraced. This is the objective of a Christian drug rehabilitation program such as Pacific Hills.
At the Pacific Hills program, a balanced, comprehensive treatment protocol typically includes psychological counseling, psychiatric and medical support, nutritional and health courses and instruction based on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. However, the core of the program consists of two spirituality tracks; a “Traditional Track”, utilizing the principles of the 12 Steps, and a “Christian Track” where the 12 Steps are taught based on their scriptural platform.
Treatment options include; a primary program of approximately 28 days, a day treatment program (allowing the patient to sleep at home), an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), a transitional (step-down) program and often a long-term sober living program.
